Ultrasonic Examination

UE testing uses ultrasonic waves as a non-destructive process that uses bursts of ultrasonic energy into the cylinder to detect flaws.

UE testing is the preferred option of cylinder testing and is recognized by the United States Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT), the Compressed Gas Association (CGA)

UE testing equipment finds flaws such as wall thinning, pitting, and

cracks which can be missed with hydrostatic testing

UE testing is much faster and less labor-intensive than hydrostatic testing

UE testing can be used on a wide range of cylinder materials such

as steel, aluminum, and high strength steel.

No valve removal: probably the most important benefit that

avoids potential valve damage.
